100% of your gift to the Annual Campaign directly supports the individuals and families that call Anawim Housing home, and the life-changing Permanent Supportive Housing programs and services we provide for individuals moving into housing after experiencing homelessness. Anawim supports individuals and families from all walks of life including those simply in need of a safe, affordable place to call home.

Our Programs Come at a Cost
There is an increasing financial need at Anawim Housing. In the past two years, we have experienced a decline in donations while we have also seen an increase in cost to serve and maintain people in housing. To provide Permanent Supportive Housing for the 390+ individuals we serve across central Iowa, we must not only apply for grant funding, but fundraise to support those programs. 51% of the cost to operate our programs is covered by grant funding. That leaves a remaining 49% that is a direct cost to our organization.
To meet the cost, we need you. Your gift helps us continue to meet the growing need for services in a time of increasing financial need.
Who We Serve
Supporting a Healthy Community through Permanent Supportive Housing and Affordable Housing
Anawim Housing is the largest provider of permanent supportive housing in Iowa – providing programs and services that assist individuals and families who have experienced a housing crisis. Today, we serve over 390 individuals in permanent supportive housing. Our programs utilize evidence-based practices and the Housing First model to provide safe, stable housing for the most vulnerable in our community.
Affordable housing is the preventer of homelessness and helps support a healthy community. Anawim Housing serves over 990 individuals in affordable housing throughout our state and is committed to strengthening people and communities through safe, stable, and affordable housing. Through providing and developing affordable housing, Anawim helps to strengthen our community.
