Anawim Housing has appointed Cynthia Latcham as Executive Director. Latcham was promoted to this new position within the organization after serving as Director of Programs and Services for Anawim Housing for the past three years. Latcham has demonstrated great expertise, leadership and ongoing study in the fields of permanent supportive housing and homelessness throughout the state of Iowa. She currently serves the Polk County Continuum of Care as Co-Chair of the Director’s Council, as well as serving on other key committees. The position of Executive Director gives Latcham the ability to have a broader leadership role within the organization and guide Anawim to reaching a larger audience.
Over the past three years, she has successfully assembled and led a strong program team within Anawim that continues to grow in skill, size, and capacity. Her passion is to end homelessness in Polk County and Iowa through broad system changes and addressing injustice, systemic poverty and trauma. She is a frequent conference presenter on Housing First, Harm Reduction and Permanent Supportive Housing. She received her Master’s degree in Public Administration from Drake University.
Russ Frazier will remain as President of Anawim Housing and Allterra Property Solutions – Anawim’s property management company. Latcham will be in charge of Anawim’s daily operations. Frazier will support those efforts along with leading the financial, property development and risk management components of the corporation.

Latcham formally assumed her new role in June of 2020.
