Anawim was selected as one of 3 finalists in our category based on our company efforts to encourage healthy lifestyle practices and preventative care for our employees through volunteerism, incentivized wellness challenges and staff bonding opportunities. Winners in each category received a monetary gift to continue their work focused on improving the health and well-being of their employees, students or citizens. The eight categories included: Individuals, communities, K-12 schools, early care providers, out-of-school programs and sm/med/large workplaces. At the ceremony, all were recognized for their efforts to improve the physical, social and emotional well-being of Iowans in their respective sectors. Anawim looks forward to continuing and expanding our Employee Wellness Program, utilizing the funds from the Healthiest State Initative. Our current wellness program includes awarding employees with paid time off for participating in a wellness activity and making healthy lifestyle changes. Anawim employees participating have used their PTO they've accrued to take care of themselves, take a mental-health-day, recharge and relax with family, etc,- which is very important considering the work we do for the community everyday. At Anawim Housing, we understand that in order to provide the best care and services, we need to take care of ourselves and check in with our mental and physical health needs on a regular basis.
