
Tenant Services
Supportive services are available to all Anawim and Shelter Plus Care tenants through Anawim Housing’s Family Services staff.
The relationship between the Family Services staff and tenant is developed early on in the housing process. All prospective tenants meet with staff for an assessment. During this meeting, we explore all aspects of a successful housing experience and develop plans to address any areas of concern.
Together, staff and tenants explore community resources and support systems that are already in place to assist low-income families. Where appropriate, we refer tenants to agencies and organizations that can help them with education, health care, utility assistance, home ownership and more. Anawim Housing provides funds to individuals and families to participate and engage in community programs and activities that promote their health and well-being.
Our Family Services staff also provides tenants with informational sessions on various topics of interest. These sessions, offered throughout the year, include presentations by various community representatives. With input from tenants, the staff plans social events for staff, tenants and other interested parties to enhance the sense of community and togetherness.
In addition, the Family Services staff coordinates delivery and distribution of donated furniture and household items to help tenants create a comfortable and welcoming environment in their Anawim Housing homes.
